Sea Shells of the Atlantic Ocean

This piece was inspired by my trip to Sanibel & Captiva Islands in 2016.

I love being on the beach. It’s one of my all time favorite places to be. Having grown up in Maryland, I’ve been to Ocean City numerous times. My family vacationed in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina yearly for at least a decade. And, since having children we’ve taken them to beaches in California, and most recently Florida.

Collecting shells seems to be universal. It’s difficult to walk along a beach and NOT stop when you catch a glimpse of color, or something shiny in the sand, or water. They are a small reminder of where you have been.

It wasn’t until visiting the Bailey Matthews National Shell Museum that I realized how many different colored shells there were. This piece (available in several color combinations) was inspired by the colors of the shells I saw and found while vacationing in Florida.

Shells artwork includes shells found in the Atlantic Ocean, in the United States, per the Audubon Society.

Currently Available in Light Blue, Brown and Tan, AND Purple, Beige and Tan Printed on Heavy White Weight Card Stock. Suitable for 8x10 frame.  (Colors may appear different on each device.  For example, both blue and purple lettering appear almost neon on my screen where as in print they are more subdued.)
